Change of Allegiance

After attaining 40,000 conquest points last night, I went ahead and got myself a Republic Gold Medal. I really didn't have anything else to spend all those conquest points on. (None of the rank 9 or 10 items looked enticing enough to save all those points either.) I still prefer my Star Necklace through, because of the consistency. (And after all, when I'm leveling, how often do I get a chance to rest to full MP?) But it's nice to have the option of having an additional 35 MP... should I happen to be in an area not under my nation's control.

Which is now Windurst. :D

Bastok and San d'Oria have become quite strong in conquest these past few weeks. It's good to see the Windurstian domination broken. Anyway, the post rank 6 Bastok storyline doesn't seem all that compelling. I have no real interest to reach rank 10 (but I have no doubt I will attempt it someday). So I decided that now was a good time to switch to Windurst while they were ranked third.

One-Winged Angel(?)

Ahh, black mages can wield scythes now. After waiting for the novelty of the one and only black mage-usable scythe (the mandibular sickle) to fade, I managed to get one for a low low price. I spent most of my free time the past few days working on my scythe skill. Even though I'm not as proficient with scythes as I am with staves, my lowly level 41 scythe already does more damage than my level 60 mahogony pole+1. I like it a lot. :) I can't wait to get Vorpal Scythe (which will unfortunately be my last scythe weapon skill)...

Those no longer with us, I salute you!

My low-level static party, before we even knew what a static party was:

  • Absolon - the tank (first warrior, then paladin), who quit
  • Patlabor - the red mage, MIA
  • Paige - the white mage, MIA
  • Ceona - the thief, MIA

Friends from TheBrotherhood & Prophecy:

  • Celic - 40's party mate, when he quit, I inherited his linkshell
  • Ophelia - 40's party mate who disappeared
  • Shimeka - 40's party mate who recently quit
  • Tyria/Tyrien - 40's party mate who mysteriously disappeared
  • Bretticus - Taru black mage I looked up to, MIA

Killing Gods & Demons

Our static party, Frontline, had quite a busy night tonight. And it had nothing to do with the usual leveling grind. On a whim (though it's something we've been wanting to do together for a long time as a team), we decided to hunt two avatars — Titan and Garuda. Valenya subbed for Vermin and boy did her capped enhancing skill come in handy. :D Both avatars were cakewalks. Halfway through our first battle of the night, Titan unleashed his Earthen Fury. I remember quickly glancing at the party's life meters and seeing Sykopath with 380 or so (out of 1200+) hit points remaining. I quickly sent a Cure III his way (as I'm sure the other mages did as well)... and I remember saying in party chat (|Congratulations!|) :)

That is, “Congratulations! You survived the deadliest attack!” ;)

New Pants!

It seems like every night for the past few nights, a bunch of us level 50 and above from the linkshell have been going on coffer key hunts. Garlaige Citadel, Crawler's Nest, Ifrit's Cauldron (though we didn't get any drops), and the Eldieme Necropolis. I'm happy to say I got 2 of my 3 coffer keys (Garlaige and Eldieme)... and last night, I popped open my first coffer!

There was nothing really too exciting about it. Eldieme has 7 or so spawn points for coffers... unfortunately, since I was wandering around solo, I really only had access to 2 of them. Well, after wandering around for 15-20 minutes (I think I finally get the hang of how the switches work now too), I found it! It was at the gravestone near the west plate. I was invisible at the time and an Azer (a bomb) was hanging out in the room. Thankfully, it had its back turned towards the coffer. :D I dropped invis, popped it open (received a pair of Wizard'ss Tonban), and then began casting Warp. Bombs aggro to magic and I knew this, but I did it anyway. :D Whether I left Eldieme alive or dead didn't matter to me at that point, I was just so glad to find the coffer and open it!
