DramaJust can't escape from it, it seems. As I had mentioned previously, whenever people leave a clan/guild, it tends to shake things up. Three members just upped and left at the start of our raid on Tuesday, two of them officers. (Another one left later that night and we will probably be losing yet another...) One can't help but feel betrayed. They left us for greener pastures, apparently, immediately joining the guild-that-I-will-not-name. You know them. They have a reputation for being asshats on our server. And apparently, they take glee from poaching our members. But to hell with them! If anything, it has brought our guild closer together. There was a lot of introspection and group hugging the next day in our forums. We'll continue as we always have. I have a desire to see end-game content too. But I want to see it with my friends... the people who I have struggled and celebrated with for the past 10 months or so. (And with respect to some people, the ones who were in my previous guilds, it's been nearly 1.5 years!) If not them, then there's really no reason to play the game anymore. I mean, sure, we all play online games for our own reasons. I've always accepted and respected that. Some play for loot. Some play to be one of the first (if not the first) to accomplish something. Some play for progression (which could encompass the previous reasons). Others play for fun. I play... because I don't really have much else to do. :) But seriously, I have a lot of fun playing single player games like Oblivion. But whereas I eventually dropped Oblivion after a month of play, I still play MMO games... now for nearly 3 years. I'd like to believe that it's because of the people I play with (and not that it's as addictive as crack ;) Anyhow, I would've ranted about this all on Tuesday, but I figure I wouldn't waste time on it (I probably would have said more and have a lot less nicer things to say ;)
