Rank 40My Disciple of Khaine finally hit rank 40 a few weeks ago. In the tradition of my other level-cap dings, I video capped the event. Unfortunately, I don't have that video available yet. It was a really boring ding-by-quest-turn-in anyway. ;) Despite what I previously said about back-row healing, I respecced as a full back-row healer. It seemed the right way to go, as the class doesn't really have much front-line survivability. (Especially after the nerf to the Khaine's Bounty tactic.) I still enjoy playing the class, strangely. Well, many of the DoK's heals are group and even area heals, so it's somewhat easier. Even though I use a grid-like display for healing, I've tried to not rely on it too much. Instead, I keep my eye on the battlefield, paying close attention to those on the front-line. Unfortunately, the DoK's focused healing is limited to HoTs, but some heals are better than none, right? Anyway, my guild took me on some instance runs. I'm not really sure if it's something I really want to focus on. (Too many memories of WoW.) Mythic made a good decision in making each tier of ward gear available in two flavors: a PvP set and a PvE set. The only unfortunate thing is that set bonuses are per-set only (duh) and don't go across the set tier (e.g. Annihilator and Bloodlord are the PvP and PvE lesser ward sets respectively). Alydia is sooo close to hitting renown rank 40. I think she's more than halfway there from RR39. Renown hasn't really been much of a problem, nor has finding RvR/scenario action. I'm pretty happy. Yet it still worries me that when I browse the Ironfist forums, all I see are people whining about the population. Oh well, time will tell. I re-rolled Amelante on Ironfist, who was originally a sorceress. She's now a Magus. It just seemed more right. Amelante should be human and a dabbler of dark magic/demonology. Once I get Alydia to RR40, I think I'll focus more and more on Amelante. I can't really say I'm too happy with the Magus mechanics yet, especially at these low levels, but I'm willing to give it a try. Maybe I'll roll a rank 40 Magus on the test server if there are any templates available. I think my third class on Ironfist will eventually be a Choppa. Then my Destruction trifecta will be complete: dark elf healer, chaos ranged DPS, greenskin melee DPS. I guess I'm missing a tank though... oh well. Now that I've reached endgame of sorts, time will tell if WAR will keep my interest in the coming months. I don't really have any long-term goals within the game. But that's all fine, since I think WAR is best enjoyed as a skirmish-type game. If anything, I really want to get my 3 classes to rank 40 so I can get a taste of most of the roles available. I'm still heavily into EVE, with ultra-long-term goals and plans within plans. But that's for another entry another day.
